3001 – thanks for all those great years…

Well… the last weekend was the final closing of my former homebase in Düsseldorf – 3001. The club was pretty much known for a trendsetting and international program. Luckily I was one of the residents there for the past 6-7 years and furthermore I was responsible for the agenda of the club upstairs which we simply called “Smash”. I shared the Saturday there with my friends Shorty and Maze but I played countless times on the main floor as well. Thanks to my good friend and partner in crime Fabian I had the chance to share the decks with the likes of the late DJ AM, Spinbad, Jazzy Jeff, Grandmaster Flash, DJ Premier, the Beatsteaks, the old friend Chuckie or weirdo guys like Steve Aoki. We had countless nights with the biggest names in electronic dance music such as A-Trak, Boys Noize, 2 Many DJs, Major Lazer, Axwell and the other Swedes, David Guetta, Fake Blood, Brenmar, Dirty South, An21, Afrojack, Carl Cox, Moby, Sven Väth, Bingo Players… the list goes on & on.

Laidback Luke´s Super You & Me nights are memorable – specially when I think about the dope set by DJ Mehdi (R.I.P.). That was such a huge inspiration…

I remember back in 2009 when we started the Unltd nights and I did this mix to promote the whole thing. We gave about 2000 CDs out for free…

Here is another live recording of one of those UNLTD nights.

Does anyone remember the crazy night we had with DJ AM?

I could post pictures for the next three weeks but let´s make a cut here…

The final closing night was pure fun and I will post a recap as soon as i have the pictures. Special thanks to the whole 3001 team for those great years! We keep it moving and new projects will come for sure…
